I've never really loved cranberry sauce. Truthfully, my mom always served it straight out of the can, and it was really gross. Cranberry sauce is a long-time tradition for holiday meals. It's meant to add a touch of sweetness and tartness to all the other savory flavors on the Thanksgiving dish. Over the years, I've decided that cranberry sauce needs a little makeover if I intend to enjoy it! My recipe offers the perfect balance of both sweet and tart flavors, while introducing some other notes like blackberries and strawberries that are worth adding to a dedicant holiday meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 bag (12 ounces) fresh cranberries
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1 cup fresh strawberries (remove stems and cut into halves if the strawberries are too large)
- 1 cup CRANBERRY CRAZY sugar
- 1 cup water
Directions:
Rinse all your fresh fruit and then add all ingredients into a medium size saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasional. The sugar will dissolve, and the cranberries will begin to burst. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes covered. Remove the mixture from the saucepan and place into a serving bowl to cool. The cranberry sauce will become thicker as it continues to cool. Serve alongside your beautiful holiday meal and enjoy!
