Using a SALTOPIA flavor for cooking rice enhances its flavor, much like seasoning pasta water. Our salts will season the grains from within as they absorb water, providing a more even taste than just salting afterward. The most perfect pot of rice is made with a pool of oil at the bottom of the pot (just enough to cover the entire pot base) and a heavy pinch of SALTOPIA. Choose the oil as well as the SALTOPIA flavor based on the rice recipe. For Asian recipes, try sesame oil with SALTOPIA's Korean BBQ salt, as an example. Bring the salt/oil mixture to a sizzle and add the rice only. Allow the rice to sizzle into the salty oil for several minutes while stirring. Once the rice is completely coated, add 2 cups of hot water per every 1 cup of rice. Allow the rice to boil in the water and stir on occasion. Once the water looks fully evaporated, cover and cook undisturbed for another 20-25 minutes depending on how much rice is being made. These are SALTOPIA's best suggestions for any gourmet rice recipe.
